Елизабет II става кралица на Обединеното кралство и ръководител на Британската общност на 6 февруари 1952 година. Тя има 4 деца и 8 внуци.

Тя е 32-ата правнучка на крал Алфред Велики, който е първият ефективен крал на Англия 871-899. На 19-ти ноември 1947 г. Принцеса Елизабет (тогава) се омъжва за Филип Маунтбатън, който е принц на Гърция и Дания и по-късно става херцога на Единбург. Техните деца са: · Чарлз Филип Артър Джордж, роден на 14 ное 1948. · Anne Elizabeth Louise, родена на 15 август 1950. · Andrew Christian Албърт Едуард, роден на 19-ти февруари 1960. · Edward Antony Richard Louis, роден на 10 март 1964. The Royal family

The royal family is a group of close relatives of the monarch (the head of the monarchy) of the UK. Members of the royal family belong to or are married into the House of Windsor which is the current Royal house in the United Kingdom.

Some facts about the Queen:
Queen Elisabeth became Queen for the United Kingdom and head of the Commonwealth on February 6th 1952. She has 4 children and 8 grandchildren. She is now 83 years old. She is the 32nd great-granddaughter of King Alfred the Great who was the first effective King of England 871-899. On 20th of November 2007 she became the first monarch to have been married for 60 years.
On 19th November, 1947 Princess Elizabeth (as she was then) married Philip Mountbatten, who was prince of Greece and Denmark and was later created Duke of Edinburgh.

Their children are:
· Charles Philip Arthur George, born 14th November 1948.
· Anne Elizabeth Louise, born 15th August 1950.
· Andrew Albert Christian Edward, born 19th February 1960.
· Edward Antony Richard Louis, born 10th March 1964.

Queen Elizabeth is also Queen of Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Jamaica, Barbados, The Bahamas, Grenada, Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Tuvalu, Saint Lucia, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Antigua and Barbuda, Belize, and Saint Kitts and Nevis. The sixteen countries she is Queen are known as Commonwealth Realms.

Elizabeth has reigned for 57 years, and through that period of time the United Kingdom has seen 11 different Prime Ministers, and very many Prime Ministers in the Commonwealth Realms which she is Head of State. So during her reign she has seen a total of 138 Prime Ministers. Plus, there has been 12 US Presidents during her reign.
